Re: Intake control valve

Sorry, I'm not available x1050

My problem is with the IAC valve.Little valve on the top center of the throttle body. Mine will stick and/or not work. Wouldn't idle or run smoothly.
Have someone turn the power on and off and you watch the valve, you should see it move in and out.If it does yours is probably OK.
I made a gasket that goes between the backing plate and the throttle body to completely block off the IAC. Then opened up the butterfly slightly to get a constant idle speed of 1300 rpm. This eliminates the cold start high idle but also completely gets rid of the stalling at idle and after revving the engine.
I also dis connected the O2 sensor to make the bike run on the rich side.I was worried about being too lean with the butterfly open more.

I don't know what type of carb to go with yet, just started looking into it.

The Triumph part number for the Stepper Motor, or Idle Air Control
Valve (IACV) used in the Super X is T1240888 and the dealer price
was/is $95.69.

There is a bit of confusion regarding the origin of this part,
whether or not is was provided by Sagem as it was delivered to EH by
Walbro in the manifold assembly -- That explains why EH did not
publish a replacement part number for it. The part number that Sagem
assigned to it is 02SM001.

I will have all of the other Triumph/Sagem/Excelsior-Henderson part
numbers posted here, the Resource Board and SuperXOwners.com very
soon.
