Subject:  Oil Pressure Switch & Rear Brake Switch XREF

Here is all of the information that I have been able to collect:

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Oil Pressure Sending Switch, E-H #3299-0061, MSRP $7.50
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The real cross-reference number from official E-H documents is NAPA
#OP6641 (OP means "Oil Pressure") and was supplied by Dana-Pride
Mfg., which is now a part of the Dana Engine Management Group.

It was suggested earlier that the cross-reference number was NAPA
#OP6075 or AutoZone #OP23741, both of which work but are not exactly
the same item.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Rear Brake Switch, E-H #1799-0063, MSRP $12.95
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The real cross-reference number is NAPA #SL147 (SL means "Stop
Light") and costs $11.33. Other brands that are also the same item
are Borg-Warner #S551 and Niehoff #WA627C. This part was also
supplied by Dana-Pride Mfg.

It was suggested earlier that the cross-reference number is NAPA
#OP6624 or Niehoff GEN #OP23311 or NIEDR135M, both of which work but
are not exactly the same item.

Subject:  Oil Pressure Switch Failure and New Cross-Reference Data

Having Lost another Oil pressure sending switch, I have done some
homework. I talked with Neihoff representetive regarding autozone
part #OP23741 and he indicated that pressure and temp were probably
not the issue, as soon as I mentioned the word cycle he asked "V-
twin?". Vibration is a big issue with failure in these types of
switches(credit to X1050 for Msg #9257). I asked for X-reference to
NAPA Part#6641(see below), and he provided me with two part numbers
Neihoff SE2000 and Harley Davidson #26552-72.

These three numbers are equivelent parts designed for cycle
applications:

NAPA #OP6641
Neihoff #SE2000
HD #26552-72

Tim, thanks for the info - here's one more. When my first oil
pressure sender broke and started pumping oil out on my exhaust
pipes, a local Harley dealer replaced it for me with an identical-
appearing Bosch unit with a Harley part number. When that one went
bad and did the same thing, I replaced it with a Niehoff part from
AutoZone. This part required a terminal change to a spade-type and
the top of the sender is of a MUCH more robust design than the flimsy
threaded-rod-through-ceramic original. The part numbers on the
endflap have cross-references thusly:
GEN: OP23401
NIE: AL133A
SMP: PS-11
A nearby European bike expert tells me this is the same type used by
Moto Guzzi.
