The Excelsior-Henderson is a premium heavy weight cruiser. It is a proprietary motorcycle and was designed by Excelsior-Henderson engineers and stylists. This motorcycle is uniquely all it's own with a legendary name and heritage styling. As owners understand, these bikes drip with character. They have a soul, taken willingly from every member of the Road Crew and the Co-founders.

Park your Super X so that you can stand back and have a good look at it. Put the handlebars either straight or slightly turned to the right, leaving the bike with its head up. This is a proud motorcycle and should always be parked looking dignified, with its head held high.

Now, stand back and look at your motorcycle from a short distance. Notice how the lines flow, how the theme of curves makes your eyes follow along. The massive front end sets the pace of expression that screams that it is no ordinary motorcycle.

Notice the stance, the overall appearance, and how there are not out of place shapes or designs. Everything goes together beautifully.

Move closer and have a good look at the fit and finish. Nothing was left undone or mismatched. There is a noticable lack of zip ties. Engineers designed everything to have a place and a proper way to be fastened. Look at the depth of the paint, the superb quality of the chrome. This is exactly what you expect from a premium motorcycle.

Fit and finish is best defined as the attention to detail. The most dramatic example of this I like to point out is the use of chrome and stainless steel. The instrument cluster housing is chrome, the gauges are rimmed with stainless steel. As you look forward the risers and triple tree are chrome, the handle bars are stainless steel. Further forward and you see the chrome strut caps with a stainless steel pivot shaft holding them together. The pivot shaft has been beveled to match the contour of the chrome headlight. Uncommon fit and finish.

Again, we will begin at the front of the bike, proceed around the left side then back up the right side. If you have questions or would like a complete spec list e-mailed to you, e-mail me at Lizard6xx@Yahoo.com. I won’t answer assholes, smart-ass questions, or product comparisons. This is about the Super X.

Front Tire
The OEM front tire is a Dunlop 491 Elite II. It is an MT90-HB16, which means it is a 130/90-16 that is H-speed rated tire. This tire was chosen because it has excellent grip in wet and dry conditions. It has superb handling at high and low speeds and a high load capacity. This tire was made in the USA!

Front Wheel
The wheel is chromed aluminum and has 40 stainless steel spokes. The gauge of the spokes is much thicker than normally used on motorcycles. The wheel bearings are sealed. Aluminum rims reduce unsprung weight. Unsprung weight is literally any weight that is not supported by springs. One pound of unsprung weight reacts like 3 pounds of weight supported by suspension. Reducing the unsprung weight is very costly on a production motorcycle but greatly improves the ride and handling. Stainless steel spokes look better and will last longer.

Front Hub and Suspension Rocker Arm
The hub is chromed aluminum. The suspension rocker arm is aluminum and is either chrome or powder coated black on the Deadwood Special. Again, aluminum reduces unsprung weight.

Front Fender
Proprietary large front fender with the heritage styling from the early Super X motorcycles. The forks pierce through the fender just like the early bikes. The valance seen around the edge of the fender adds the subtle touch of class that make the Super X stand out from ordinary motorcycles. The fender is steel with rolled edges. Rolled edges are there to add strength. Go take a close look at your front fender. Notice how the curves blend into a beautiful sculpture conforming perfectly to the relationship of the entire fender. This fender is a work of art.
